moving right along

Hello! Not too much is new here, we've just been working away on our little kitchen. THe walls, ceiling and floor have all been painted with multiple coats. The floor looks really great, the diamonds worked out really well, and weren't actually as hard or as much work as I was expecting, which was a nice change!
We got the cabinets installed, the countertop attached and the stove, sink and dishwasher put in place. Then today we hooked up the sink and dishwasher, and even ran our first load of dishes (and believe me, it was about time!)

So it's all coming along. I still can't picture how it's going to look when all the pieces are together, hopefully it will turn out just like we hope! I'll keep you posted!

hi there! The floor looks amazing - how did you keep the edges so sharp? Did you use a stencil? Have you decided about the green? You'll have to put a picture showing the full effect - I'm having trouble visualizing it (I miss white or cream ceilings, but maybe I'm a bit too traditional or have a lack of vision or BOTH). Great sink, Anita! Take care, guys! XOXO Mom/Joc

Hey Guys!

I'm also curious about how you did the floor... Looks great! And your sink, porcelain? Because it looks sharp.

Have you guys checked out Etsy at all? Etsy.com, I thought of you both when i saw it.

Best,

Connor

Hey guys, thanks for the posts! The sink is porcelain - we dragged it all the way from Ikea in Ontario, but we forgot to buy the matching tap and strainers! It looks totally gorgeous, though, I'm in love with it. The floor was surprisingly easy. We painted the entire thing red first, then when it was dry we traced a cardboard square, and just extended the lines for the yellow diamonds. It only took a couple of hours. Connor that Etsy site is so much fun! I've been spending way too many hours surfing around on it since you told us. It's such a great idea, I think we'll be putting stuff on there soon! Thanks for the tip! Talk to you soon Love Lauren
