Art Show at ARCAC

So I got in to the Annapolis Region Community Art Gallery this week and set up my little show. Luckily the room is fairly small, as there were several pieces I had hoped to get finished that never quite got all the way to ready. Anyway, I've got six embroideries, six differently bound books, one whirligig, and one giant house sculpture. And that'll have to do for now.
Still, it's kind of fun, and I do feel like I accomplished something.
Plus, it was kind of nice to see everything displayed in one room, all at once. I often feel like what I'm doing is totally eclectic, and don't see any sort of unifying thread, between sculptures, bookworks, embroideries, etc, etc. But when they were put all together in the Gallery, they didn't seem so out of place. Somehow, they did seem to belong together. Interesting.

"Now to consult the rules of composition before making a picture is a little like consulting the law of gravitation before going for a walk. Such rules and laws are deduced from the accomplished fact; they are the products of reflection." ~Edward Weston

I don't think I'll be able to make it down for the show, but will try my best! They look great from a distance. So does Griffin. I'll see you hopefully in the fall sometime!
