Documenting our Days

Hello! What a week it's been. One of these days, I am going to be able to sit down and write something wise or witty, but I'm afraid it won't be today. And, really, it's so easy to say "one of these days..." Occasionally (I admit it) I write Blog posts in my head, while I'm brushing my teeth at night, or spooning food into Griffin's mouth, and they're always full of interesting observations. But when I actually sit, I seem to end up always trying to play catch up. Anyway, a lot has happened this week, and some of it was definitely worth documenting.

Speaking of playing catch-up, I did actually take a couple of pictures of Jai's parents and Griffin together while they were here visiting a couple of weeks ago.

Griffin sure has some great Grandparents!

I did a couple of photo shoots this week, and it's been super fun to get back into. I was saying to Jai that my graduating class was probably one of the last years to get a degree in photography without every touching a digital camera. They really have changed everything. I loved being in the darkroom, but virtually stopped taking pictures after I graduated because I didn't have access to a darkroom anymore, and it was hurting my heart to get photos developed at Walmart. Now, it's not the same as developing in a darkroom, but it IS pretty amazing what you can do with the photo programs that are out there. What fun!

Anyway, I got some great shots of my friend Sarah and her children.

And I took some photos for Jai's band Dayliner, who will be playing the Valley's Got Talent show at the Apple Blossom Festival next week. I'm pretty happy with how they all turned out.

In between other things, I've been trying to get all the weeds out of the garden, but as you can see from this photo, there's still a lot of work to be done.

I'm hoping to get all the plants into the ground this weekend. The extra day will hopefully help! (I'm going to need it!)
And the biggest news of the week is on the Griffin front, of course. He stood all by himself for the first time yesterday! Go, Griffin!

Good for Griffin! How exciting. And oh, my - do I know exactly what you mean about writing clever blog posts in your head! In my case, that's where many of them stay. And the weeds are in the same situation here, too. :) So you're most definitely not alone!
